LAHORE: The Lawyers Coordination Committee has called off strike on January 28 after the prominent lawyers distanced them from the call. The lawyers body had earlier announced the strike on January 28 to press the government for enforcement of the Supreme Court verdict in NRO case.
The Committee will consider the issue in its meeting on February 14.
Talking to media outside the Lahore High Court building, Secretary Supreme Court Bar Raja Zulqarnain dispelled the impression that the strike being called off due to opposition by various organizations of the lawyers.
He said the strike call has been withdrawn due to the government’s assurance of implementation of the NRO verdict.
He said the committee will decide its future strategy in the meeting on February 14.
