One killed in Karachi bus firing

KARACHI: Unknown miscreants fired upon a bus in Karachi late night Tuesday killing at least one of the commuters and wounding three others, reported ARY NEWS.

The incident took place in Quaidabad area where unknown assailants targeted a public transport bus with gun fire, police officials told the channel. A woman is dead while at least three injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, they said.

Police say the miscreants were attempting to rob the bus and opened fire after meeting resistance by the passengers.

Heavy contingents of police and rangers arrived at the scene after the incident that was speculated earlier to be a string of recent spate of target killing in the city that so far has claimed near 40 lives in a week.
