MULTAN: Sugar price has increased by Rs 200 per 100 kilogramme bag in the wholesale market of southern Punjab as the price of the commodity has soared to Rs 5500 per 100-kilogramme in the region. The retail traders are selling sugar at Rs 57 per kilogramme. The people blame hoarding and absence of the government check and balance as major cause of the hike in sugar price.
